Key Injection & Management
Mustang MicroSystems, Inc. provides certified, secure encryption key management and PINpad key injection services for companies utilizing electronic payment systems. Encryption key management and PINpad key injection is necessary whenever an electronic payment system requires support for Debit Card, EBT Card or other transactions requiring PIN entry. Mustang’s customers include retail companies, POS/Payment system integrators and PINpad manufacturers. Mustang MicroSystems SecureInject Service includes support for ANSI Standard Single and Triple DES DUKPT encryption.
Key Management Services:
Mustang Microsystems, Inc. will work with you and your electronic payments processor to establish, and maintain your master key in a physically secure location by complying with strict industry standard security rules. Using a secure procedure, where multiple Mustang security personnel each handle only a part of your master key and no one individual ever sees the complete key, we perform a one-time initialization procedure for our key injection system. The key injection system may then be used to inject encryption keys in your PINpads. This procedure is required when using a test key for development or certification purposes or for an actual production key. Your master key is then stored off-site in a registered bank vault.
Key Injection Services:
Once the above one-time procedure has been completed for a specific customer and processor, Mustang Microsystems may then proceed to inject your production PINpads. Mustang Microsystems maintains complete, secure control of your PINpads from receipt at our facility to return shipment. Each unit is recorded by serial number, and tracked throughout the injection process, via our Depot Management System (DMS) database.
Software Loading
Most Retailers have store or company specific software which needs loading into the payment terminals in addition to the secure injection of the debit keys. This is an optional service that Mustang offers as part of its ONE STOP service. Whether doing new store deployment, repair or replacemnt of terminals, Mustang can incorporate this software loading into the preparation process. Be sure to discuss this option with Mustang when considering a contract for our services.
Remember: Not only can Mustang Microsystems sell you the payment terminal equipment but we can also have it completely operational, kitted and ready for use, by the time the technician installs it into the lane.
Asset Management
Not only are the "secret" keys requiring the utmost in security these days, but so are the terminals themselves. Our proprietary Depot Management System allows us to track the terminals from the time they enter our facility until they leave, including where they came from and where they are being shipped to. This system tracks all assets by their manufacturer, model type, and serial numbers, including date and time "stamping" from the time they enter our facility until the time they are completely processed and made ready to go. Each asset is additionally tied to a Request Authorization order number which is created at the time the job is initiated. From this database, we can strip out and/or deliver any asset related information to the customer, whether the order was for 10 units or 1000. This helps to ensure our knowledge of the whereabouts of any unit, while in our hands, keeping them extra secure.
Kitting and Deployment
From the time equipment is purchased, until it gets installed into the store or service location, often times many additional pieces of the puzzle (or end product) are also required. This may include optional cables, screen overlays, software, or other customer specific accessories - possibly even from multiple vendor purchases (as in stands).
If you purchase, for example, 1000 units but have the need for smaller group deployments where your stores may only need maybe ten or fifteen of these units, then you will soon realize that kitting becomes a major factor for each location. Mustang takes this pain away by staging and managing these individual store deployments. All vendors can ship direct to Mustang where each kit will be compiled and shipped to direct, regional, or other area locations, in what ever quantity specified.
Included in this kitting and deployment comes the tracking of your assets. With Mustang's ability to manage serialized assets (See Asset Management above), each serial number is logged with the location it is shipped to.
